GetElseWear (“we”) runs the price-comparison app at app.getelsewear.com, its iPhone app and this website. By creating an account or buying a pass, you agree to these terms. Our privacy policy explains what we do with your information. Questions: hello@getelsewear.com.
What GetElseWear is
GetElseWear shows what the same item costs in other countries, converted to your currency, with an estimate of the tourist tax refund. Prices come from the brands’ own websites, lists checked by hand and tags other shoppers scanned. They can be out of date or wrong, a shop’s price can differ from its website, and refunds depend on the shop, the refund company and customs on the day. Treat every figure as a guide: check the tag and your receipt before you buy, and the refund rules before you fly.
GetElseWear isn’t connected to, or endorsed by, any of the brands it compares. Their names belong to them.
Your account
- Use your own email address, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.
- An account is for one person. You need to be 16 or older.
- Your first search is free without an account, and a free account includes 5 searches in total.
Passes
- A Trip Pass gives full access for 14 days and an Annual pass for a year, from when you buy it. Each is paid once, in your home country’s currency, tax included. Nothing renews automatically.
- Stripe sells passes on our behalf as the seller of record and handles the payment, tax and receipts.
- We may change prices or what’s free in the future, but never for a pass you’ve already bought.
Using it fairly
Please don’t copy our prices in bulk, use scripts or bots to read the app, resell what you get from it, try to get around the free-search limit or a pass, upload photos that aren’t of a tag, or do anything that harms the app or other shoppers. We may suspend an account that does.
What you add
When you add a price, scan a tag or tell us about your refund, you let us use it to run and improve GetElseWear, including showing it to other shoppers and in trends that can’t identify you. You keep any rights you have in it. Only add what you saw yourself.
Our responsibility
We work hard to keep GetElseWear accurate and running, but it’s provided as it is, and we can’t promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. As far as the law allows, we aren’t responsible for what you decide to buy, or not buy, based on it, and our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before. Nothing here limits rights that the law where you live doesn’t let us limit.
Ending
You can stop using GetElseWear at any time, and ask us to delete your account by emailing us.
The law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario, Canada. If you live somewhere else, you also keep the protections the consumer laws there give you.
Changes
If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top. For a big change, we’ll tell signed-in shoppers in the app or by email first.
