We compared the regular prices of 457 Longchamp styles on Longchamp’s own websites in all 11 of our countries in October 2026. For US shoppers, every style sold in both France and the US was at least 15% cheaper in France after the tax refund. The typical (median) saving was 31%.
All the euro countries print the same price. Portugal and Italy come out a point or so cheaper than France because their refunds are a little bigger, but Paris, where Longchamp started, is the easy choice. Outside Europe, Japan is about 14% cheaper for US shoppers.

The tax refund in France
- French prices include 20% VAT. If you live outside the EU, you can claim it back.
- You need to spend €100.01 or more in one shop on one day. Ask for a tax-free form (détaxe) at the till and show your passport.
- Before you check your bags, scan each form at a PABLO kiosk at the airport. Red on the screen means take the goods and the form to the customs desk.
- Forms must be validated by the end of the third month after the month you bought.
- Refund companies keep a fee. We assume you get about three quarters of the tax back, roughly 12.5% of the price on the tag.
EU residents can’t claim the refund anywhere in the EU. UK residents can, since 2021.
A Le Pliage tote is over the €100.01 minimum on its own; a pouch (€90) needs something else from the same shop on the same day.
